Over the past 40+ years, Spectra has created its own designation in manufacturing and selling Agricultural & Industrial products. Dynamic personnel who possess vast experience and knowledge in various fields resulted in innovating various machines useful in construction, agriculture, and industrial sectors. Welding transformer, harvesting cover guards, Bio mass water heater, Grass choppers, Cattle crushes and dairy cubicles for dairy farming, battery charger, and spot-welding plants are some of the outstanding products of Spectra. The innovative capability of the company is highly depicted by the patented products such as Harvesting cover guard and Biomass water heater. Their hard work has resulted in expanding sales capability over four showrooms located at Mahakeliya, Kurunegala, Dambulla, and Anuradhapura. Establishing the business as "Prashakthi" in 1983 through the inspiration by the challenges students faced while studying under kerosene oil lamps.

In 1983, a groundbreaking solution was born to replace kerosene lamps with the introduction of Spectra's first product, the fluorescent lamp (both 8W and 6W) specially crafted to operate on a 12V battery. This innovative lighting solution emerged under license of the NERD Center.

To ensure a consistent and uninterrupted source of light from the "Prashakthi lamp," the Spectra battery charger was introduced.

In response to the increasing demand for welding transformers in the market, Spectra introduced the Arc welding transformer.

Spectra expands into the local market, by opening its first showroom in Kurunegala.

"Lanka Shakthi Dara Wayu Lipa" which operates with firewood as a efficient solution for the currently prevailing stoves.

Bio Mass Rice Cooker operate with coconut shells was introduced to reduce the domestics electricity consumption.

As a solution for the ordinary paddy harvesting, a cover unit was introduce for the brush cutter machine.

Water treatment plant was introduced to eliminate the unnecessary fluoride and hardness of drinking water in dry zone, Sri Lanka. As a result of the project most of the villages benefited by recovering from the kidney diseases and fluorosis related disease conditions.
